Sweden Is One Step Closer TO NATO Membership

The Turkish parliament’s foreign affairs committee finally gave their consent

After more then one year of politically motivated delays by Turkish President Erdogan, Sweden is today a major stop closer to becoming a member of NATO and thus closing the remaining gap in the Nordic region for the Western military organization. Although not quite a fait accompli, this is an important accomplishment and puts Sweden on the very short road to NATO accession. This news will give Vladimir Putin one more reason to have sleepless nights and to watch his back even more closely than before.
